ACRO

A combination of classical dance and acrobatics unite together to create the form of Acro Dancing.

Dance Attire

Any type of dance clothes. No shoes. Hair up.

BALLET

A classical dance that gives the sense of expression through its' flowing pattern movements.

Dance Attire

Plain Black leotard, pink tights, and pink split sole ballet shoes. Hair pulled back neat in a bun. Optional skirt in black.

Contemporary

Experimental dance form originating from the 20th Century that focuses on using all movements from the body to create unique styles.

Dance Attire

Sports bra, boys shorts, half soles. Hair up.

Flamenco

A very active style of dancing that involves a lot of movement and also hand clapping and feet stomping.

Dance Attire

Black leotard, black & white Flamenco skirt, tan tights, Castañuelas and Flamenco shoes. Hair in a bun.

HIP-HOP

A street dance form style usually along with Hip-Hop music. A lot of movement involved, including breaking, locking, and popping.

Dance Attire

Any type of dance clothes. Sneakers. Hair up.

JAZZ

A dance style that combines various dance styles, but primarily using forms of Ballet and Tap. Danced with Jazz music.

Dance Attire

Sports bra, boys shorts, Black Jazz shoes or half soles. Hair up.

POINTE

A dance style building upon Ballet where the dancer holds all their weight on the tips of their toes.

Dance Attire

Plain Black leotard, pink tights, and pink ballet shoes. Hair pulled back neat in a bun. Optional skirt in black.

TAP

A dance in which the dancer wears shoes with metal taps and creates different rhythms by tapping the shoes on the floor while dancing.

Dance Attire

Any type of leotard, dance pants, sports bra, tank top, etc. Boy shorts. Black Tap shoes. Hair up.

Dance Attire Rules

No Jewelry. No T-Shirt. No Jeans.

Jewelry is never worn to dance class and the Teacher may ask students to remove jewelry while taking class. Small earrings are acceptable. The dance studio will not be responsible if the jewelry is lost while taking class.

Hair

All ballet students must wear their hair back in a neat tight bun. We keep hair supplies at the front desk in case a student needs them. Ballet students will not be allowed to take class if their hair is not properly done for the type of class.
